Preamble
Article 1: Principles of access
The academy adopts:
- Design as accessible as possible;
- Individual consultation;
- The minimum amount of data necessary;
- Timely response;
- No retaliation or academic demotion due to the request;
- Choose an effective solution that does not impose a disproportionate burden.
Article 2: Who can request?
Anyone facing a permanent, temporary or intermittent disability can request an accommodation. It is not necessary to use a specific diagnosis or label to start the dialogue.
Article 3: Timing of the request
It is preferable to apply early, but the application should not be rejected simply because it is late. Some arrangements may not be applied retrospectively to a completed assessment if verification or fair treatment is not possible.
Article 4: Request method
The request describes the functional constraint, the proposed arrangement, and the dates affected. It can be submitted by mail, account, or by the guardian or legal representative when necessary.
Article 5: Supporting documents
Only required if the need or suitability of the solution is not clear. It is usually sufficient to state the functional limitations and the expected duration; A complete medical file or details not related to learning are not required.
Article 6: Examples of arrangements
May include:
- Extra time or rest periods;
- Readable file format or alternative text;
- Transcription or text translation;
- Assistive technology;
- An alternative assessment date or method;
- A camera is not obligatory when an alternative is possible;
- Extension or temporary relief of the burden;
- A communication channel that suits the need.
Article 7: Evaluations
The ranking preserves the core skill to be measured. If the proposed arrangement is not possible, the Academy will search with the trainee for an effective alternative and explain the reason for the decision.
Article 8: Content and Platform
The Academy strives for organized titles, appropriate contrast, alternative text, keyboard navigation, readable documents, and clear labels. Priority is given to fixing the barrier preventing access to mandatory content.
Article 9: Live events
Announces whether recording or transcribing is available. The time zone, the need for an interpreter, companion or breaks are taken into account, with reasonable advance notice.
Article 10: Confidentiality
Need data is kept in a restricted manner, and the teacher shares only the information necessary to implement the arrangement, not the diagnosis unless necessary, approved, or legally required.
Article 11: Arrangement cost
No fee is charged for the reasonable arrangement itself. If the user requests an optional service that exceeds the approved need, its status and cost shall be clarified before approval.
Article 12: Safety and essential requirements
An arrangement that eliminates an essential educational outcome or creates an irreducible risk or disproportionate burden may be rejected after a documented individual assessment and consideration of alternatives, rather than on a general assumption.
Article 13: Communication with the training service provider
If another party implements the arrangement, minimal information is transferred to it and responsibilities remain contractually defined. The trainee is not asked to re-explain sensitive data unnecessarily.
Article 14: Complaint and review
A review of a denial, delay, or inadequate implementation may be requested pursuant to POL-18, without adversely affecting acceptance or outcome.
Article 15: Communication
Direct requests to [email protected] with the subject line “Access Request or Convenient Arrangement.”
